1. Don’t tackle everything at once
Make a list and do one thing a time. It’s easy to get overwhelmed in the initial stages of wedding planning and ridiculously stressful when you realise how much money is coming out. So just tackle things one at a time.

2. Do what you want
So many people will feel like they have a say on your big day whether they don’t like your dress, the venue, the bridesmaid choices – who cares – it’s your day – you’re celebrating and you can do it how you please. Do not let anyone make you feel guilty for your choices.

3. Delegate
If you need help and you have a handful of wedding VIPs let them know what they can do. You’ll be surprised at how many people want to help you and feel involved with the wedding. If you need the cake picked up and transported ask a bridesmaid, need the rings picked up ask your hubby to be. The to do list doesn’t just have to be your responsibility.

4. Stay organised
Write those lists, check things off, keep to schedule. You don’t want to let something slip through the net and then be panicking and rushing the day before your wedding.

5. Don’t start looking for your dress with 6 months to go
You do not need dress stress. Sort your dress out as soon as possible. Book in for those fittings and then at least that is one less thing to worry about.

6. Remember why you’re having a wedding in the first place
You are marrying the man you love. Having a day you might have dreamed of since you were a kid. It’s easy to forget that in the crazy rush that is the lead up to your wedding.

7. Have some me time
Most importantly take some time out for yourself. Don’t get overwhelmed, enjoy the planning process. Do things that you like, chill out with a prosecco in the bath watching Eastenders if that’s your thing. Take a class at the gym, spend time with your hubby to be with zero wedding chat.
