Bit of a different one this week – with a letter from the bride and grooms daughter …

Mum & Dads wedding Part 3
The morning of Saturday 2nd June 2012 was the start of one of the most beautiful days I have ever experienced It was going to be the first time (of that I could remember) I was going to see my mum and dad be husband and wife.

It wasn’t as if my parents never acted as husband and wife being married to each other twice before, and have never really been out of each others lives, not with us three kids always having something that a parent needed to watch and a family event that both were always invited. It was going to be the first time where I generally felt that they were marrying out of choice, to be together rather than any other event or life pressures leading them to do so.

With my mums baby brother giving her away, her granddaughter and niece as flower girls, her two daughters as witnesses, her son being best man, and surrounded by all the family and close friends the wedding party walked up to the local church St Luke’s, where the love was just oozing from everyone and the emotions and pure happiness filled the church, with colours of summer time filling the pews and smiles beaming throughout the beautiful bride in her customised designed dress and bright pink shoes walked arm in arm with her very proud and dapper dressed brother down to meet the ever emotional husband to be standing so tall next to his grown son, both smartly dressed with no tie the nuptials began.

After the few awkward songs, few tears and that KISS, my mum and dad were husband and wife for the third and hopefully final time!

The rest of the afternoon carried on the laid back family wedding, with a few group photos taken where the lime light was completely stolen by the two beautiful flower girls who have just stolen more of our hearts by their cheeky ways. With my aunties husband doing the catering we strolled over to the village hall garden to start the celebrations of Pimms and champers and a few nibbles with the Eastbourne sun shinning and laughter and of course bubbles filling the air the feeling of love just followed where ever we went.

Then it was time for the entrance the introduction to dinner and of course the beautiful bride and handsome groom MR and MRS Taylor. In to where we walked into the most beautiful surroundings of fairy lights and storm lamps setting the perfect ambiance of love and relaxiness with the stage backdrop being hundreds of fairy lights and each table name after a Crystal Palace player- There had to be a little thing in there for Dad. The food was served a buffet of just the most fresh local products perfect with the bottle of two of cold white wine where there was no chance of a bottle getting hot even with the June sun still shining.

The speeches all had us in tears from the nervousness of my brother mixed with the beautiful words and the theme of three for my uncles and the proudness taht just shined with every word. Were closely followed by the red velvet cake each made by my big brother and tested by my niece, and the present from myself and my sister just a little surprise from us to the parents cause a party can not always just be done with an Ipod, the hiring of a band to help us carry on the celebrations.

As the sun had set and the stars began to sparkle, the new mr and mrs taylor walked up to Tesco to purchase more alcohol and the party got on the way, the arrival of the evening guest where the dancing really bagan, the kids all but one curled up under tables and across two chairs, sleeping, while we carried on partying the shoes in the middle as the day was still going strong, all surrounded by love and happiness and the warm twinkle of fairy lights.
