The best new movies coming out in 2022

Hands up if you’re excited for this years movie line up. Some we have been waiting for, for what seems like years – Top Gun and Hocus Pocus we’re looking at you. Some, we never knew we need another movie for – Scream – we actually can’t wait to see what they do with the franchise. We also can’t wait to see Where the Crawdads Sing and She Said. Make sure to read the books first of those 2, but they aren’t released for a while, so you have plenty of time to read up.

The 365 
A spy film with with 5 women from different intelligence agencies who all come together to recover a top secret weapon (duh). The cast is incredible and includes Penelope Cruz, Jessica Chastain and Diane Kruger.
Release date: January 7th


Scream 

If you were old enough to be around when the first Scream movies came out, then you will be very happy to know that a new one will be dropping this January. We’re really excited to see where this storyline goes. And of course the old characters who survive the last 4 are back.
Release date: January 14th

Marry Me 
Starring our favourite Jennifer Lopez who plays a successful popstar, who discovers that her fiance has been cheating on her, just a few hours before her wedding day. So instead of letting the wedding day go to waste, she’s chooses to marry someone from the crowd. This will be your V-Day movie of the year and we’re excited about it.
Release date: February 11th


The Batman 

A new Batman movie with a new Batman – Robert Pattinson – AKA  – Edward Cullen. This film looks at Batman back in his early years in Gotham City.
Release date: March 4th

Downton Abbey: New Era
Downton fans will be ecstatic to hear this news. This movie follows up wit the Crawley’s after the royal visit that happened in the last movie.
Release date: Expected in March

Morbius
A spider man baddie gets his own spin-off. So this is a super hero movie. This one stars Jared Leto who is the living vampire doctor with a rare blood disease.
Release date: Expected in April


Top Gun: Maverick

FINALLY. We’ve heard rumours, we’ve seen some behind scene shots and then Covid happened. The new Top Gun is finally being released. In this movie Maverick now trains new recruits, including the sone of an old friend.
Release date: May 27th

Jurassic World: Dominion
This one follows on 4 years on from where the last one left off. It looks at how human kind has adapted since the dinosaurs escaped.
Release date: Expected June

Bullet Train 
This movie follows 5 assassins who find themselves on a fast moving bullet train. Sounds a bit boring, but the cast is incredible – hello Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt – so you know it’s gonna be incredible.

Where the Crawdads Sing 
Based on the best selling novel with the same name. If you haven’t read it yet – give it a go before you watch the movie. It is a story about Kya, a young woman forced to raise herself on the North Carolina marshes when her family abandon her at the age of 6.
Release date: Expected July

Don’t Worry Darling 
Starring our favourite Florence Pugh, who plays an unhappy house wife in this thriller. What’s up with her town and what secret is her husband hiding?
Release date: September 23rd


Hocus Pocus 2

Nothing needs to be said about this on. The title tells you all that you need to know. The witches are back ladies & gents and we can’t wait!
Release date: Expected October

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 
We’re looking forward to seeing what they do with this storyline. It doesn’t look like the Black Panther has been recast, so we will just have to wait and see.
Release date: Expected November 11th

She Said 
Based on the best selling novel of the same name, which follows journalists Megan Twohey and Jodie Kantor, who work to break the Harvey Weinsten #MeToo story.
Release date: November 18th

I Wanna Dance with Somebody 
Are you singing the song reading that title? If yes, then you’ve guessed what the movie is about – a Whitney Houston biopic.
Release date: December 23rd
