Downtown Deli has been an instant hit within the town since the day that they opened.
It is one of our favourite places to go for lunch and it’s where we went during every lockdown walk.
Initially run by the the Skilton family, they have now “passed the bagel” to the Lower family.
For those of you Downtown Deli fans who might be worried about the future if Downtown Deli – will it change, with the food be the same, will it be the same deliciousness. You need not panic – the Lower family have been learning about all things Downtown Deli since last year.
They announced the news over on the Downtown Deli FB page …
” We’ve got some big news to share with all our Downtown Deli fans! The Skilton family has passed the bagel to the Lower family, and we’re excited to take the reins of this amazing business. Rest assured, everything you know and love about Downtown Deli will remain the same, and we’re committed to maintaining the high standards that have made this place a local favourite, to ensure this we have been attending the Deli daily since October last year learning how to create the amazing products and service you know and love!
We’ll soon be extending our opening hours and introducing weekend service, so you can now enjoy our delicious food every day of the week. And for those who can’t make it to us, we’ve got you covered with our new delivery service, bringing the Downtown Deli experience straight to your door.
We’re grateful for the trust and support of the Skilton family, and we’re excited to continue their legacy of providing exceptional food and service to the community. Kadie will be staying on with the Lower family and will continue the awesome work she does every day! We look forward to welcoming you all soon, and showing you what we have in store!
