It’s a lovely feeling being asked to be your besties bridesmaid, so as we’re all about the weddings right now, we thought that we would share our tips on how to be the best bridesmaid ever. No hassle, no drama, just great fun.
1. Take an interest in her big day
This one kind of goes without saying, but try and take an interest in what she is saying about her big day. Whether it be about the colour she wants the hubby to be to wear or her issues about fascinators, listen.
2. Fall into line – it’s not about you
That sounds way more harsh than we thought and if we could get emojis on our website there would be a winky emoji up there. However it’s really easy to get carried away with the planning of the wedding with the bride. Remember it’s her big day and if she wants you to wear a little bo beep bridesmaid outfit, then don’t tell her you won’t. Lot’s of peoples opinions on one bridesmaid dress can become quite overwhelming.
3. Throw her a hen party she would love, not one that you would love
If she’s the kinda gal that wants willy straws and strippers, then get her willy straws and stripper, but if she’s the kind of gal that just wants to go out for dinner and then have a couple of cocktails, respect that. Do everything that she wants to do – within reason.
4. Be useful
The week leading up to the wedding can be pretty stressful especially when you have all the little bits left to do, like wrap ribbon around the wedding favours or write the table plan. Give her a helping hand, because lets face it – men are useless and nobody wants a wrapped up party favour with big man hands so they.
5. Get on with the other bridesmaids
This one is probably one of the most important points. These other girls are either family of friends from different groups. You have to put your differences behind you, or at least until the wedding has been and gone. We know that sometimes that is easier said than done, but just breath, count to 10 or one million if needed.
