We Took A Trip To Bexhill And Found A Great New Restaurant That You Have To Visit

Bears Bar & Grill is a restaurant you will WISH was in Eastbourne and is well worth the visit to Bexhill …

Bears Bar & Grill: What
Bears Bar & Grill opened a couple of months a go in Bexhill. We found them completely by accident and we’re glad that we did. They have a great menu, which you will find out about shortly and a fab cocktail list – so remember to leave the car behind. First up on to the food –

Bears Bar & Grill: Food
We like to try as much as possible when we’re out reviewing and Bears made this very easy with the tapas starters available. You get to choose five items for a set price and it’s actually pretty good price for how much food you are  getting. We decided on Jerk Chicken skewers with mint yoghurt, chicken tikka skewers with mint yoghurt, pork sticks with sticky cider sauce and homemade pulled lamb in filo pastry with a mint yoghurt dip. Each one was great and more than enough for two to have a tasting session. The jerk chicken and the pork sticks were our favourite, but closely followed by chicken tikka and the pulled lamb. One day we will order all of the tasters menu – that will be a good day.

For mains we had slow roasted belly of pork with oriental style coleslaw and sweet potato fries. It was the first time we had ever had pork belly and it was so so good. Not too sure why it’s been avoided previously, but it will now become a firm staple and we can’t wait to have it again on our next visit to Bears. Also the price was fantastic for how much you got on your plate – £12.95. It was fantastic. Next up was the steak which was served with chunky triple cooked chips and a house salad.  We’re just gonna leave the picture of the steak below and let you make your own decision – but it was good – really good.

We were stuffed by the time pudding came round – S.T.U.F.F.E.D – but in the name of research – we managed to order two very amazingly tasty puddings. The puddings in question were a passionfruit syllabub and a lovely chocolate concoction. Now we didn’t actually know what on earth a passionfruit syllabub  was – but our waiter was so passionate about it and disappointed when we didn’t order it, we knew we had to change our order and give it a go.  IT WAS INCREDIBLE. Still not entirely sure what it was – but it tasted insane and the cookies were a great touch. If you order a pudding – YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE PASSIONFRUIT SYLLABUB.

Bears Bar & Grill: Drink
Bears Bar & grill has a fabulous cocktail list and it would be a shame if you missed out on it.

Bears Bar & Grill: Verdict
You have to go and visit Bears Bar & Grill ASAP. The restaurant looks beautiful inside. The food is AMAZING and well worth the trip over to Bexhill. The staff are really friendly and they if they suggest something on the menu – trust them – they make good choices. And for all those Instagrammers –  you will get the best Shoefie (shoe selfie) the floor is so pretty.

If you want to take a trip on down to Bears Bar & Grill – you can make an online booking here. Check out the full menu here. And you will also be happy to know that they do Afternoon Tea. Way hay!
